Clearminutes

Clearminutes is a desktop meeting assistant that captures conversations, displays a live transcript, and prepares a summary with decisions and action items when recording stops. It runs from the macOS menu bar or Windows taskbar and does not require a meeting bot or account to try. Transcription uses Whisper on the user’s machine, and transcripts, summaries, and tasks are stored locally. For summarization, users can choose from built-in local models, connect an Ollama instance, or optionally provide a cloud AI key. In the cloud option, the service says it sends transcript text rather than meeting audio. Users can search their local meeting history, export summaries and action items as PDF or structured outlines, and sync extracted tasks to TickTick on Pro. The app works offline for local transcription and summarization, and an in-app network monitor displays outbound connections. Clearminutes is intended for people who want meeting notes while keeping recordings on their own device, including solo professionals and users handling sensitive discussions. The product specifically describes healthcare, legal, and financial work as use cases. Core local features are free; the Pro plan adds features such as TickTick sync, and the homepage lists it at £12 per month.
