DisplayBuddy
displaybuddy.app
Control external monitor brightness, contrast, volume, inputs, and display setups from your Mac or Windows taskbar or menu bar.
What it does
DisplayBuddy brings external-monitor controls into the operating system so you do not need to use the buttons on the back of each screen. On Mac and Windows, you can adjust real hardware brightness, contrast, and volume, switch inputs such as HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C, and manage resolution or rotation where supported. The app communicates with compatible displays through DDC; when a monitor does not respond, it can fall back to gamma control. LG webOS and Samsung Tizen smart monitors can be reached over Wi-Fi.
For multi-monitor desks, Sync mode moves brightness or volume together, while presets save complete arrangements for work, movies, or gaming. Schedules can apply settings based on sunrise, sunset, a time of day, charging, or a newly connected display. Keyboard shortcuts, custom hotkeys, widgets, macOS Shortcuts, Siri, a command-line interface, and MCP support extend the workflow into automation and scripting. The documentation lists macOS 10.13+ support, and the Windows app supports Windows 10 and 11. DisplayBuddy is suited to people who regularly switch between display setups, use several external monitors, or want software controls for screens from brands such as Dell, LG, Samsung, BenQ, ASUS, Acer, HP, and Xiaomi.
