Longscribe

Longscribe converts recordings into usable text and subtitle files from a browser. Paste a link from YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, X, Dailymotion, or SoundCloud, or upload a file from your computer. Automatic mode checks for existing captions first; when captions are unavailable, Whisper-based AI transcribes the audio. You can choose a recognition language or use automatic detection across dozens of supported languages. Long recordings and live broadcasts run in a background queue, so you can close the browser and return when the job is ready. Once processed, the transcript can be edited in the browser, searched with clickable timestamps, and shared through a public link. Export options include clean TXT text, timed SRT subtitles, DOCX documents, and JSON data. This makes Longscribe useful for creating subtitles, reviewing webinars and lectures, extracting quotes, preparing article or social content, and turning recorded calls into notes. A short video can be tested without an account, while a free account provides a monthly transcription allowance.
