SmartRetry diagnoses failed card payments, rebuilds retry attempts, and routes them across available acquirers to recover revenue automatically.
What it does
SmartRetry is an active payment-optimization layer for recovering declined card transactions. When a payment fails, it evaluates the decline reason, issuer signals, routing conditions, 3DS response, region, card type, and transaction parameters. It then selects a recovery strategy, adjusting items such as 3DS settings, AVS, ECI levels, card data, retry timing, and acquirer path before making another attempt.
For merchants with multiple providers, SmartRetry monitors approval rates, latency, retry outcomes, and acquirer performance, then routes transactions toward the path most likely to approve them. It can also apply specialized scheduling and authentication logic to recurring charges and subscription renewals. A dashboard reports approval rates, retry results, 3DS success, and provider performance, giving payment teams visibility into what the engine did and where routing changes may help. Custom retry rules and preferences for acquirers, currencies, or ECI levels remain available.
SmartRetry sits on top of existing PSPs and acquirers rather than replacing them, so the checkout and payment flow can stay in place. Documentation describes REST API, SDK, and plugins for WooCommerce, Magento, and PrestaShop, with a sandbox for testing. It is designed for businesses processing card payments that want to recover eligible failures, including subscription merchants managing repeat billing.
