Zeptap lets AI agents operate a real iPhone from a Mac, using its screen and touch controls through a local MCP server.
What it does
Zeptap connects a real iPhone to a Mac so an AI agent can work with apps on the device. The Mac reads the screen over USB, while taps, swipes, typing, and key presses are sent over Bluetooth through AssistiveTouch. Each action returns a screenshot, giving the agent a fresh view of what happened before it continues.
To get started, install the Mac app, connect and pair an iPhone, then give a task to Zeptap’s chat or connect a compatible agent through its local MCP server. The server runs on the same Mac and is available to MCP clients such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, and Cursor. Zeptap also includes a chat panel that can use an existing Claude or ChatGPT subscription, or an OpenRouter key.
The workflow is designed for real devices and their installed apps: agents can navigate, search, and draft actions in the same interfaces a person uses. Zeptap can stop before sending a message or posting a comment so a person can review it first. It requires macOS 14 or later, a Bluetooth-capable Mac, and an iPhone connected by USB. The app installs nothing on the phone and does not require Xcode or Developer Mode. This suits people who want to automate or research through their own iPhone apps with an MCP-compatible agent.
