Claude is Anthropic’s general-purpose AI assistant for working with text, images, code, and files. People can use it in chat on the web, iOS, Android, and desktop to brainstorm, write and edit content, analyze information, generate code, visualize data, search the web, and execute code to create files. Projects, memory, research features, and connectors extend the workspace for longer-running or context-rich tasks. For software development, Claude Code works directly with a codebase from the terminal, IDEs, Slack, web, and mobile. It can inspect project structure, edit multiple files, run commands and tests, explain unfamiliar repositories, and help move issues through to pull requests. Native integrations are available for VS Code, JetBrains, GitHub, GitLab, and command-line workflows. Claude for Chrome adds browser assistance that can navigate pages, click controls, fill forms, extract information, and run background or scheduled workflows, with user approval and supervision for sensitive actions. Claude serves individual users, developers, and teams. The free tier covers core chat and creation capabilities with limited use, while paid plans add higher usage, more models, coding tools, projects, research, and collaboration or administration features depending on the plan. Browser automation is offered as a beta feature on paid plans.
