Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf)
devin.ai
An IDE and command center for coordinating local and cloud coding agents, reviewing changes, organizing project context, and shipping software.
What it does
Devin Desktop brings coding agents and software work into one desktop surface. It combines a full IDE—with syntax highlighting, autocomplete, and debugging tools—with a command center for managing local editor sessions and cloud agents. A Kanban-style view groups agents by status, making active, blocked, review-ready, and completed work visible at a glance. From there, developers can jump back into an agent session for manual last-mile edits.
Spaces organize the working context for a project, including agent sessions, pull requests, files, and related context. This supports workflows where several agents handle parallel tasks while the developer tracks progress and reviews the resulting diffs. The product also supports the Agent Client Protocol, allowing work across models and agents.
Devin Desktop includes Tab, an AI coding suggestion system with inline edits, context-aware diff suggestions, Tab to Jump navigation, and Tab to Import dependency insertion. Suggestions can use code, terminal activity, Cascade chat history, recent editor actions, and—when enabled—clipboard context. The desktop app is positioned for individual engineers and teams coordinating multi-step development work, from coding and debugging through testing and review. Paid access also includes cloud-agent usage, with plan-specific quotas and model availability.
