EditBuddy

EditBuddy is an AI-assisted video editing panel for Adobe Premiere Pro. Open a sequence, run its cleanup tools, review the proposed changes, and continue editing in the same Premiere project. Cuts, captions, keyframes, and other results remain editable clips rather than a flattened export, so you can trim, move, delete, or undo them on the timeline. Its rough-cut workflow can remove dead air, detect repeated takes and filler speech, add animated word-level captions, place supporting B-roll, and create automatic zooms. The tool also includes a multicam podcast workflow for up to eight speakers, plus a Long-to-Shorts feature that identifies moments, reframes them to 9:16, and returns editable sequences. Before destructive edits, it creates a backup sequence for quick reversal. Silence analysis runs locally, while selected AI steps process compressed audio and transcript data through EditBuddy’s servers. EditBuddy runs on Windows and macOS with Premiere Pro 2024 or newer. It is suited to YouTube and social creators, podcast producers, editors handling interviews or talking-head footage, and agency post-production teams that want repetitive cleanup inside an established Premiere workflow without exporting to another editor.
