Advertising Is Hard

Advertising Is Hard is a marketing learning and reference site built around practical examples. Its strategy library collects organic and paid growth write-ups, with summaries that credit the person who shared each tactic and link to the original account. The site also offers guides on topics such as advertising platforms, SEO, creative work, copywriting, and landing pages, plus downloadable AI skill files and an ad library for studying examples. A set of browser-based tools covers ad copy character limits, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, payback, break-even return on ad spend, ad budgets, keyword ranking costs, UTM links, and advertising change calendars. The tools are presented as free and do not require an account; the site says inputs stay in the browser. Access to the full guide and AI skill libraries is unlocked by providing an email address. The main paid feature is a board where brands and creators bid for a ranked placement. Bids determine position, and the top five placements appear across the site. The board runs in 90-day seasons; a bid holds its rank for the remaining season, and the paid placement does not carry into the next one. This makes the site useful both for marketers looking to study tactics and for advertisers who want a time-limited placement alongside those resources. Most learning material and tools are free, while visibility on the board is paid.
