democrito

democrito is a reusable design system for building consistent interfaces, including products developed with AI coding tools. Its structure follows atomic design: tokens form the foundation, followed by atoms, molecules, organisms, and full-page templates. The documented library includes more than 100 design tokens, reusable interface components, and templates such as dashboards, editors, libraries, and settings screens. Three themes—warm, dark, and light—let teams adapt the system to different visual contexts. The project includes a CSS token source, a W3C design-token export, React components built with Tailwind and shadcn/ui, and context files that explain conventions and design decisions to coding agents. Teams can add the component registry to a project with the shadcn registry command, clone the repository, or copy the token layer for another stack. The files support tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex, helping an agent work from shared rules and component references. This is useful for designers and frontend developers who want a documented starting point for an AI-native product interface, or who need to keep generated screens aligned with a chosen visual system. Accessibility is part of the system’s stated principles, including WCAG 2.1 AA, keyboard navigation, and 44-by-44-pixel touch targets. democrito is published as open source under the MIT License.
